    Valentines Lingerie Shopping – Loving You!

    The sexiest time of the year is here.  I adore Valentines Day and all the girlie girl stuff.   There is something for every woman.  I remember the days when big puffy slippers and a sheer or silk night gown was considered “the gift”.  Thank goodness we have evolved and the types of gifts and styles for women range from cotton pajamas, sexy bras to two piece sets that work after the special day.  We as women need to connect to this holiday beyond just the boyfriend or husband ritual.  That is just as important, but loving yourself in lingerie is a 365 day affair.  I started being a fan of Valentines Day shopping for me when I saw the vase selection of styles come through the door when I worked in retail.  I thought, wow, this is the time to shop!  The vendors pull out all the stops, and after the big day is over it’s usually sale mania (my favorite).  You can grab some major deals on matching bra and panty sets ( Lingerie Fit Expert Must Have).

    As for a color story, red and black are the norm, but have you tried the new it color of the season “purple”.  Surprise someone special with a smoking hot purple frock or matching set.  Every fashion magazine is screaming purple passion mania.  I also believe white is perfect as a transition to spring and summer that are right around the corner.

    If you are full fit and fabulous, I highly recommend Freya for beautiful lingerie that is sophisticated and spectacular in fit!  La Perla has taken the limits off this year with a fabulous red and black lace set that fits like a dream.  Several of my clients have purchased and can not thank me enough.  This is a collector and could be worn under the right blouse as a camisole affect.  Think beyond what you see.  Lingerie is a “solution” now for fashion as well.

    This year, I am recommending bra sets to clients.  They are the gift that keeps on giving.  You can use it everyday beyond the special occasion.  Remember, loving you goes beyond just Valentines Day.  It’s all about loving yourself without limits daily.  You are the gift.  Have a wonderful day…

    Are you working it? The importance of Sports Bras

    As we enter the tail end of January 2010, I know for most of us, we have made our resolutions to loose weight, go to the gym, and just be more active.  As a friendly reminder, make sure you own a sports bra and do not work out in your regular bra.  A sports bra is designed to give specific engineering and lift for women.  A regular bra, although supportive is designed for shaping the breasts, but not for jumping, running, etc.  When doing fittings for clients, I have seen numerous women walk in with blown out bras.  I always ask in the consultation, do you own a sports bra?  A few will say yes, but the majority will boldly say no, and have sixteen reasons why.  This is not ok.  I always compare it to wearing the same shoes day in and day out for one year.  Your shoes and your feet would be worn out!

    Just like a regular bra, you can select the type of impact you need to get your work out on!  If you are a pilates or yoga lover, then low impact or no wire solutions will work well for you.  If you play tennis or run, you will want to select a firm or compression garment that keeps your ladies in place but does not bind or pinch.  If you’re a AA or smaller cup, they have heard the voices of women who said we need a little help.  You can find contour or molded solutions to give you more shape.  The full figure customer has awesome choices, finally…

    Sneak Peak at Spring

    Spring is almost near, and since we have had record breaking cool temps, we wanted to bring our own form of sunshine with a peak at trends coming for Spring 2010.  Simple statements and fresh color patterns are on the horizon.  Stripes mixed with dashes of color and bold orange is the signature color of the season.  I call it a mix of retro fresh chic.  I have always encouraged my clients to select lingerie to go with the season trends. The must have item in my lingerie drawer every season is a color story of camisoles that go with the seasons trend.  This winter I picked hot pink.  I took my basic black wardrobe and pushed it to another level with splashes of hot pink underneath.

    I bought a handbag a couple of months ago.  When purchasing I sort of stepped back, looked it over and pondered if I would use the bag all the time because of the color.  It was gray and I never owned anything in this color.  I became confident with my choice as women and men complimented me on my bag.  Wow, it’s a winner!  It caused me to look at other options for my discovery of this very sophisticated color.  I noticed that I could put the bag with multiple colors from dark to light.

    Happy Holidays Divas!  It’s the season of sexy, strapless social dressing.  I love it!  This month we are bringing you the best of lingerie solutions for every occasion.  We kick off this month’s lingerie reviews with strapless bras.   If you’re like a majority of Lingerie Fit Expert clients and readers, this is not their favorite holiday solution.  Why do so many women have a hard time finding a strapless bra that fits?  Over the years, I have determined that fit is the number one reason.

    People wear strapless either too large or too small.  If you’re a 36C, then you should be in the same size.  The engineering and support has come so far.  Defined cups, excellent fabrications and special enhanced features make this a must have for every woman who loves fashion and options in her wardrobe.  Are favorites this year are Chantelle 3065, Panache 3370, and Dominique 3541.  Chantelle is perfect for the woman who wants shape and no spilling out of the cup.  Panache is my personal favorite for D through G client, a terrific fit but you don’t want to pour out of the bra.  Finally Dominique is affordable.  Sometimes we may only wear a strapless once or twice a year.  Who wants to pay a fortune?  If you’re a petite, Calvin Klein is a winner!  We are just beginning stay tuned for more holiday lingerie solutions.

    The camisole bra is such a limited item in the intimate apparel industry.  Furthermore, to fine something to alluring, sexy and great fitting for plus sizes is simply exciting!     In honor of our Gals, I thought we would celebrate the signature color that is dedicated to the cause, pink.  I am a pink fan and wear it in every season including while visiting New York in the middle of winter with my pink trench coat.  Yes, that was me.  I am a California Diva what can I say…We picked out a few of our favorites to inspire us that pink is a color that is full of life, vitality and girl fun.  Felina 630461 is a super cute with a soft feminine floral print.  Cosabella AMORE 1103 is rock star fun.  This one would have to be seen in my book, so I would wear it under a sheer camisole with a peek a boo affect under a button down shirt.  The black trim allows it to be a perfect match for fall wardrobe solutions.

    I have been wearing balconette bras for around two years.  The style is perfect for us ladies who want lift without pouring out of the cup.  This one in particular has a lined cup which I loved not only for modesty, but for someone who is seeking a solution after breast cancer surgery.  A mastectomy form would fit in perfect and or it gives a little bit more shape if you’re smaller in one side than the other. A pocket can always be added to  a regular bra with a seamstress assistance.  I just fit a client who was in need of a contour bra and was going to reject this style.  She ended up loving her new look.  It does take and reshape your figure.  I know I need this at times myself.  Gal tip of the day:  Embrace where you are and where you want to be is not far…

    Calvin is becoming one of my favorite brands.  The price point is perfect, and the fit is the best I have seen in years.  Over the years, clients have asked for no underwire.  I used to cringe because the selection was limited and the styles were not pretty, and sometimes frumpy.  I felt like women were being punished for asking for an option other than underwire.  Now, a new decade has been born where lingerie companies understand that great fit can translate to comfort and yes, no wire.  Check out Calvin Klein F2880.  This is one I would wear to provide a solution for low plunge neck lines and yes to get my sexy on! In addition, the lace trim looks almost like a camisole.  I would pair with a white blouse to create an illusion.  Perfect for women who are seeking solutions post surgery as well.  Gal tip of the day:  Look at the possibilities in all situations…
