Today’s suits are packed with features and benefits that give us ladies that something special when lounging at the pool.  A once piece bathing suit is perfect if you want to elongate your torso, and conceal some challenges in areas you just don’t feel good about.  Add a trouser or skirt, and now you look like your going to a party. The swimsuit has gone beyond just the pool side, it’s now fashionista divine!

Advice:  Just like a bra, you should never own just one swim suit.  Own at least two or more and rotate to keep them looking like new!

As we get closer to Memorial Day, the time has come to begin our pre-summer shopping sprees.  This summer, you may want to consider a swim wardrobe.  I used to own one suit until I went to Hawaii last year and fell in love with resting and nesting by the pool.  Sometimes you want to be chic and getting splashed is not an option.  On another day, you are all about the waves.  Shopping for a swim suit that provides versatility is essential. You can mix and match the collection based on the mood or the need.  A short skirt is a perfect when you want to go to the bar or have a spa treatment and you don’t want to feel bare walking through the lobby.

This coupled with a halter top and heels is sexy and sophisticated for poolside social.  If you feel a little timid, then a long sarong is for you with a tankini.  This creates an illusion of a lounge dress.   Now that swim is sized by cup size, the options are unlimited.   Every woman should own a black bikini bottom.  As the seasons change, you can save money by mixing and matching with new tops every year.   Who is that glamorous woman at the pool? Oh it’s You!

As spring unfolds, I have noticed something new in the color story category.  Navy Blue is the new “it” color of the season.  It started with the Oscars when the stars stepped out of the box from their usual suspects Black or White.

Although it was done and very well by some, Navy Blue and its sister tones took the center stage and shined big time!  I have noticed it is being incorporated with lilac as well as yellow.  It’s super fashionista and it takes a woman’s wardrobe to another level.  I have been recommending navy blue bras instead of black to my clients.

The swimwear this season has also been hit with the blue bug.  My mother is a lover of Navy Blue and it reminds me of the 60’s.  Women were very stylish and navy was considered dramatic and “next level”.

Trend Watch:  Navy and White with Black or a pop of color is hot this season.

Years ago when I worked in retail, women would always solicit my assistance for swim suits since I was a bra fitting expert.  I could never understand why, then it all made sense when the more I worked with the different lines of swim, they all seemed to have a challenge regarding bra fit and “shape solutions.

I personally have experienced a new glow as I found styles that not only flattered my figured but provided a fashion statement as I lounged pool side.  Tankini is my personal favorite!

It’s exciting to see the range of styles that help a woman to achieve maximum figure flattery.  You can now adjust the bottom half of your suit so that if you feel a little “bottom heavy” a boy short or skirt can be selected to smooth your curves.  If you’re traditional or modest, a one piece suit is still a fan favorite because it tends to elongate the body.  The Miracle Suit has been the leader for years in this category.  The bra fit issue is no longer an issue.  If you’re a D, DDD or even double F or G, they have a suit for you.  Can anyone say AMEN!!!

You should have different collections to work with your travel and or home recreation requirements.  Try to own at least two or more.  When you travel, you can allow one suit to dry and continue your pool side adventure.  Rotate your swim just like you would a bra.

Spring is almost near, and since we have had record breaking cool temps, we wanted to bring our own form of sunshine with a peak at trends coming for Spring 2010.  Simple statements and fresh color patterns are on the horizon.  Stripes mixed with dashes of color and bold orange is the signature color of the season.  I call it a mix of retro fresh chic.  I have always encouraged my clients to select lingerie to go with the season trends. The must have item in my lingerie drawer every season is a color story of camisoles that go with the seasons trend.  This winter I picked hot pink.  I took my basic black wardrobe and pushed it to another level with splashes of hot pink underneath.

I just reviewed the collection of Freya, Fantasies and Miracle Suit Swimwear.  Wow, so exciting to see swimwear for women with style and amazing designs.  Finally ladies who are D, DD and up to a G can have a fantastic shape in their suits.  Super sexy and it looks like a candy shop with all the color options.  If you want to select a tank or traditional bra top solution they have so many choices.  I loved the miraclesuit swim skirt.  If you’re a little self conscious and want to still be sexy but conservative it’s a win.  One piece swim has never been better.  It’s so nice to see a lingerie company that has some of the best fitting bras for women showcase swim.  Take a peak!  Lisa Cole,  Bra &Lingerie Fit Expert
