Tis the season to look like a hottie….Grab your shapewear Clothes and Party! Yes.  I did say shapewear clothes.   How many of us have had that moment when you want to wear a diva skirt but you have a few challenges that just seem to show up at 6:00 when your getting dressed.

This season, you can wear the pencil skirt and have the egg nog too!  Totally takes all the challenges away.  If you add hosiery, your totally sculpted sister! How many of us would not be caught in white pants.

Think again, and say yes I can with my secret shaper taking care of the bumps and not so nice bulges.  Add a camisole top and a leather jacket and you will be called the smoking hottie of the evening.   The goal is to create a new you without all the self defeating messages about your going to loose weight or if I was a size X.  New conversation…Wow, I look amazing!!!

The Maxi Dress was the rage for summer for women everywhere! I wore one for the first time and ended up with a wardrobe of the frocks.  They are easy to wear, pack and put together for a total look instantly.  This winter, saying no to a dress because you live in a cooler climate is not allowed.  Now that we have shapewear clothes, your days of challenges are also limited.  Add a belt around the waist and feel fabulous.  Layers are the rage this season so a legging provides extra warmth and a stylish twist to your ensemble.  The hot mama shoe or handbag are all you need to rock the scene when you step in the door.  I call this one the ultimate feel good fashion statement.

This year the spotlight is on the color purple.  It began in the spring at the Oscars and has continued to be the new signature color of the season.  One of my favorite ways to incorporate trend and save money is through camisole layering.  The trend this year is the faux fur rage and the bulky sweater.  Who wants to be sizzling underneath with a long sleeve alternative?  By adding a camisole you have a punch of color and savvy style solution.  Remember to select the shade of purple that works for you.  You can pick from lavender to deep eggplant tones.  This is a sure fire winner for fall and winter.

This fall, Black is back in a big way.  Head to toe suiting as well as jackets, skirts and dresses.  Nothing builds a woman’s confidence than a sleek fitting black dress.  It hides our secret figure challenges as well as accentuates our positive attributes.  The trend in bodywear collections is the shapewear dress.

This is the marriage of fashion and solution.  All you need is a pair of rocking tights or hose and you’re the bell of the ball at an evening cocktail event or romantic date.  A contour bra is a must!  An important feature of looking your best is to have a lifted busted line.  So many solutions, so many places to go!  Don’t turn down that after five invitation…

The style of underwear we select is very personal.  Some women refuse to wear anything but a thong, and some argue they would never be caught with one on, give me the full coverage solution.  It appears over the years that the full brief has been forgotten.  I have graduated many of my clients from the lady briefs to new hip solutions such as boy shorts, thongs and hipsters.  As we were reviewing fall, I wanted to make sure this solution was not left out.  You may want to consider putting this one on the list.  Fall and winter brings cooler temps and layers are a must!  Many of our clients have remarked how they have paired a camisole and a full brief as a warm wear solution.  The brief also has no panty lines.  Ok, I heard what you said…it’s not sexy.

This is not true anymore.  The vintage inspired trend as we saw at the Emmy’s recently is huge.  Vintage underwear that is modernized for today’s diva is very fun and colorful!   Pants are the number one trend this season.  The brief is your counterpart to fashion success.  I even had my own wow moment when trying on a dress recently while wearing a brief.  It slimmed, trimmed and toned without having to wear a shaper.  A small bit of advice, don’t purchase the lady pants to large.  They will tend to bunch and bag under your clothes.

Last Spring we blogged about the new “it” color Grey.  As I flip through Elle, In Style, and Vogue and more, the color has become a mainstay for the upcoming fall season.  Versatile, and can easily mixed and splashed with vibrant colors such as red and violet.  The floral trend has also remained.  Flowers and lingerie just seem to go together.

As we transition out of our slinky summer frocks, we begin to look at layers.  A sexy print bra under black is a fashion OH Yes!  As I have mentioned before, you just want to make sure it’s seamless so that it creates smooth lines.  This applies to every woman including full fit/full figure ladies.  Fashion bras are a must have for the wardrobe.

White is sizzling when paired with the right accessories, shoes and hats.  Since we are in count down mode for summer to end, if you do not get your fix of white, then here is your chance.  In addition, white mixed with navy this year is the new spectator savvy style.

I was forwarded pictures of a lovely young diva in training by her grandmother/wardrobe stylist Vicki Nichols of Doncaster Womens Apparel trying on a TC Shapewear Camisole.  It stopped me in my tracks.   If pictures could talk, I believe she was saying “Wow, my sundress really fits”, or Check me out! I have an amazing shape”.  I believe the main lesson here is how she is not afraid to look in the mirror and try solutions.  When was the last time we have done this ourselves?  Do we pass a rack of clothes and or review the fashion mags and flip the pages fast because we feel silently “I can’t wear this”.  Take a lesson from our diva in training.  Look in the mirror, strike a pose and find a solution that helps you look and feel good.  Celebrate the inner child in you that is fearless.

The “Top” is the focus for fall.  Most of the fashion mags are showing the top paired with pants, skirts and the return of the cardigan sweater.  When it comes to outerwear/shapewear how perfect that you don’t have to worry about what’s underneath.  One top does do it all, and many companies are following the trend.  One piece of fit advice would be to possibly go up a size because they tend to fit snug. The right size bra is a requirement.  I have seen women wearing items such as this and the bra is “cutting” and making lines.  The focus should be on you, not a bad bra fit.  A contour bra lightly lined is my suggestion for the total smooth package.  Get your dance on, because you will celebrate when you see how good you look!
