I have always been a fan of animal prints.  Whether you’re a leopard, zebra or snake skin fan, making a statement with animal (of course none harmed) is fashion chic.  This year leopard is making a huge splash on the cat walk and fashion pages.  I have seen everything from handbags to hair accessories.  In the land of lingerie, there are a multitude of solutions for the cheetah ladies who love the print.   You can layer it with a shapewear camisole, or show it as a solution with a bra.  If you like it, but don’t love it try incorporating it into underwear.  If you want to make a statement, a tight or legging is the ultimate wow factor. Get wild this fall.

The slim pant and or boot cut is the hottest trend.  Many women run from straight leg pants (including myself) because it accentuates key areas such as the tummy or burrito roll.  A control panty allows you to wear a trend and not feel self conscious about any fit challenge you may encounter.  It’s also the easiest solution to own because it can be worn with everything in your closet.  An extra firm panty can reduce your waist up to 2 inches.  I also see many women who have thinner legs, but tummy challenges.  This is your solution!  Jump start your fall shopping by taking inventory of your lingerie drawer.  You will be amazed at how easy wearing the trends can become when you already own the right solution.

Last Spring we blogged about the new “it” color Grey.  As I flip through Elle, In Style, and Vogue and more, the color has become a mainstay for the upcoming fall season.  Versatile, and can easily mixed and splashed with vibrant colors such as red and violet.  The floral trend has also remained.  Flowers and lingerie just seem to go together.

As we transition out of our slinky summer frocks, we begin to look at layers.  A sexy print bra under black is a fashion OH Yes!  As I have mentioned before, you just want to make sure it’s seamless so that it creates smooth lines.  This applies to every woman including full fit/full figure ladies.  Fashion bras are a must have for the wardrobe.

Excuse me can you help me find a pair of pants…in lingerie?  I know it seems a little peculiar, but it’s not!   When I worked in retail I was bombarded by my personal clients to shop for them.  Why?  Lingerie just like Jeans is one of the most difficult categories in apparel to fit.  Since the shape revolution is among us now, many companies are now creating clothing lines with built in shapewear.  I call this the marriage of two great ideas.  Sometimes a woman does not want to layer and connect the pieces when getting dressed.  Simply step in, pull up and your done.  The legging and pant solution is on fire right now.  This summer, the shapewear bathing suit was a hot seller!  I am excited to see what’s on the horizon.

I was recently shopping in a department store and a sales associate commented , “check out the designer collections on sale”.  At first my gut reaction was can I afford it?  I got over my fear and perused the lovely selection.  In fact, the price point was the same as a regular priced item I had just seen in another department.  I bought a top that can take me from day to evening.  What a deal!  This challenged me to write about Lingerie Designer collections like a bra and panty set that can make a statement and  be incorporated in any season.

The size issue is a challenge because most are European labels and they will stop around a 36C.  However, more companies are expanding their horizons and doing D and double D cups.    I recommend getting at least two or more bottoms when buying a matching set.  Just like clothes, you would want to match and feel confident from the inside out.  The other concept is to buy a secondary pair with a 3 for Offer.

As we end July with a focus on must have items for the summer season, one of Lingerie Fit Expert favorite items is day wear/play wear.  These are the items that cross over between lounge and hitting the town.  The best part is the incredible shaping solutions that are inclusive in the items.  That’s right, you don’t have to add another undergarment to look sensational.  In the heat wave we just experienced, who would want to add on another layer.   The new “it” shoe is the platform. Add this with your shapewear item and your hot mama in the city!

I absolutely love precious stones.  The color palette  in lingerie looks similar to some of the stones I love including rose quartz and turquoise.  Turquoise is such a strong, passionate stone.   It’s a color that looks spectacular on just about anyone. Finding the right shade for you is the key. The bra can be work as a peek-a-boo camisole with the right blouse or shirt. A t-shirt adds a fresh pop of color to neutral, chocolate, or black.   Remember, fashion lingerie is made to compliment fashion trends.

Finding a shade in pale tones may not work if you’re ethnic or have dark undertones.  Find a way to work turquoise into this season’s wardrobe.

Women everywhere remember the stunning, sexy and powerhouse diva Raquel Welch.  Her new book “Beyond The Cleavage” is a fascinating self empowerment tool for women 50 plus, and or anyone who wants to learn how to embrace life with vigor and zest.  When I speak about lingerie, I thought I had a selection of great metaphors.  After watching Raquel on Bonny Hunts show, I was mesmerized with envy.  She made mention of how her “rack” would not fit into the “modern bra”.  She stated how she had a full crowd and they (her girls) can not be pushed into a small balcony!  I was rolling.  Right on Raquel! This is what I call confidence and owning who you are with no embarrassment.  She shared additional lessons on life and defining what age means and looks like for her right now.  I enjoyed listening to her describe her journey with her body and her life. One of things she said that I loved is that “you can change things”.   I believe this is the key to looking good daily as it pertains to lingerie.  Embrace who you are, flaws and all…Give yourself some love!  Thanks for sharing Raquel.

Lingerie is now the destination for what I call intimate daywear apparel.  It’s a mix of layering pieces that go from lunch with friends to the spa to out to dinner with your man.  If you’re a woman like me who has a busy life, always packing a suitcase and leaving out of town, then I suggest visiting a few options for your wardrobe.

As I reviewed lingerie trends for spring, my favorite pick is vintage inspired lingerie.

Vintage is timeless, and if you’re a woman who likes to collect lingerie, it’s a must have. It appears that dresses and being ultra feminine is the key this season.  A vintage bra and panty set would be the ultimate accessory to your wardrobe.
