The Maxi Dress is my new style and fashion find for the summer. I wear it to the pool, evening events and just lounging. It was imperative that I find the right bra. The straps are thin and the design of the dress is low plunge. At first I almost rejected the style, then I found the perfect strapless to compliment. Strapless is one of the best items a woman can own to take her wardrobe to another level. I use the same strapless for my T-shirts. By having a strap to attach, you have a multiple solution. The halter or low back is your friend. Don’t forget, size is everything with a strapless bra. Summer is a great time to check your fit and make sure your wearing the correct size bra. Now there is a solution for A cups to J cups and beyond. Show it off this summer girlfriend!

The debate continues with women around the country whether showing your bra straps is ok or not. I am a firm believer in fashion/style, and sometimes a bra strap incorporated correctly makes sense. A white tank top and zebra bra straps, I would have to arrest you. I think we all agree that clean lines and all eyes on you is the goal. The new trend is to layer your tanks. A new twist on things is a return to the tube top. It provides the support of a bra and gives another layer of “shape”. Your bulges can smooth away with this solution/fashionista option

One of the major complaints I receive my from my clients is that seamless bras especially contour look too industrial or rigid. I agree, and yes the companies heard women as well and have now taken a new approach to handling the request.

Are you working it? The importance of Sports Bras

As we enter the tail end of January 2010, I know for most of us, we have made our resolutions to loose weight, go to the gym, and just be more active. As a friendly reminder, make sure you own a sports bra and do not work out in your regular bra. A sports bra is designed to give specific engineering and lift for women. A regular bra, although supportive is designed for shaping the breasts, but not for jumping, running, etc. When doing fittings for clients, I have seen numerous women walk in with blown out bras. I always ask in the consultation, do you own a sports bra? A few will say yes, but the majority will boldly say no, and have sixteen reasons why. This is not ok. I always compare it to wearing the same shoes day in and day out for one year. Your shoes and your feet would be worn out!

Just like a regular bra, you can select the type of impact you need to get your work out on! If you are a pilates or yoga lover, then low impact or no wire solutions will work well for you. If you play tennis or run, you will want to select a firm or compression garment that keeps your ladies in place but does not bind or pinch. If you’re a AA or smaller cup, they have heard the voices of women who said we need a little help. You can find contour or molded solutions to give you more shape. Spring is almost near, and since we have had record breaking cool temps, we wanted to bring our own form of sunshine with a peak at trends coming for Spring 2010. Simple statements and fresh color patterns are on the horizon. Stripes mixed with dashes of color and bold orange is the signature color of the season. I call it a mix of retro fresh chic. I have always encouraged my clients to select lingerie to go with the season trends. The must have item in my lingerie drawer every season is a color story of camisoles that go with the seasons trend. This winter I picked hot pink. I took my basic black wardrobe and pushed it to another level with splashes of hot pink underneath.

As I was perusing People Magazine, US, and In Style recently, I noticed the very chic and hip short dresses on many Hollywood starlets. I think it’s fresh and allows women to customize their perspective on the trend. I saw everything from roaring 20’s inspired to A-Line. Another win with this style is that the trend can be worn by plus women to petite. The key factor for looking sensational is shaping your figure. For example, if you have on a style that focuses on the bust line, make sure you’re wearing a balconette that provides a “higher lift”. Lift allows you to accentuate your mid section and waist. You will appear more elongated.

In addition, you could add a high waist brief coupled with the bra and have a sculpted torso affect. One of my favorite solutions for people who have cumbersome back bacon rolls. As we enter another decade (hard to believe), I reflect on how lingerie has changed over the past ten years. Lingerie has shifted from basic panties and bras to “must have wear” for every woman. The New Year symbolizes a time to reflect, renew, and be a whole new you. Let’s begin with a look into your lingerie drawer. Ok, don’t be afraid, I know you have panties and bras from 2000, but it’s time to let go and revive your wardrobe solutions. Here we go:

Out with the old in with the new! Toss away worn, torn, and soiled lingerie. No exceptions! Did you know that the majority of women believe they need push up bras because only their bras don’t have “lift”

Happy Holidays Divas! It’s the season of sexy, strapless social dressing. I love it! This month we are bringing you the best of lingerie solutions for every occasion. We kick off this month’s lingerie reviews with strapless bras. If you’re like a majority of Lingerie Fit Expert clients and readers, this is not their favorite holiday solution. Why do so many women have a hard time finding a strapless bra that fits? Over the years, I have determined that fit is the number one reason.

People wear strapless either too large or too small. If you’re a 36C, then you should be in the same size. The engineering and support has come so far.
